Project Description

Rapid growth of the Ankeny Community School District (CSD) created the need for a new elementary school building, and Crocker Elementary will continue to be an asset to the district for years to come. The one story steel, precast, and masonry facility has an EPDM roof and can house nearly 600 students. The building includes a large commercial kitchen, gymnasium, classrooms, band room, and other special-use rooms.

As a forward-thinking school district, Ankeny CSD recognized the importance of energy efficiency and renewable resources. The district implemented a plan to add geothermal heating and cooling to each of its school buildings, including Crocker Elementary. The project included a geothermal well field and heat pumps. The project also included kid-friendly, resilient finishes and casework. When Dean Snyder Construction is working on a school project, we understand that importance of a timeline, and making sure staff has time to settle into the new building before students arrive.
